Polystyrene cuts fairly clean with lasers and is frequently used for architectural models. This is a great material to laser cut models of highways, roads, bridges,etc. In general we could not say that we like to laser cut polystyrene due to the not too pleasant smell. Also, when we laser cut polystyrene we have to be very alert due to the fact that styrene can easily catch the fire.
